Signals tracked for WeFi Capital

The public records we read for WeFi Capital, ordered by how close each sits to the day a merchant takes an advance. Every merchant on the Accounts tab came out of one of these records, and the record is linked there.

How we rank a record

Two questions decide a merchant's place on the list: how close is the record to the day the owner needs money, and does the file look like the paper WeFi Capital already funds, in ticket, term, position and credit. A filed state record with a date beats an announcement; an announcement beats a job post.

The most useful record is not that a merchant is growing. It is what already sits on the merchant. An MCA on file, a tax warrant, or a judgment is a bank decline and a WeFi conversation. Growth with a clean record and a captive lender on the equipment is a bank's file.

One record is a lead. An existing position or lien plus a fresh expansion at the same merchant is a file worth a funder's call.

Closest to the advance

Weeks to ninety days out

Records the merchant did not choose to publish: a funder's UCC filing, a state tax warrant, a court judgment.

MCA on file, inside the renewal window

A UCC-1 where the secured party is a merchant-cash-advance funder, filed five to ten months ago. The merchant is in the cycle, at or past 50 percent paid in, and either renews with the incumbent or takes a second position. The filing date sets the clock; the secured party names the incumbent.

From this screenConnecticut's open UCC register shows Bitty Advance 2 filed against IBS LLC of Cromwell on February 20, 2026, still active.

Tax warrant or lien on an operating merchant

A state tax warrant, a federal tax lien, or a judgment recorded against a business that is still operating and still filing. A lien on a payment plan is a bank decline. The record gives the amount, the date, and the creditor.

Public contract award to a small contractor

A council, county, school-district or state award between $150,000 and $2,000,000 to a firm with a crew, not a bonding department. Net-60 or net-90 public receivables plus mobilization cost is the use of funds, and the award date is the clock.

From this screenThe Army signed a $211,104.91 purchase order with IBS LLC on June 15 for HVAC repairs at Buffumville Lake, running to January 2, 2027.

The expansion that creates the need

Thirty to one hundred twenty days out

Dated operating changes from a filed record or local reporting. Alone, an expansion is a bank's file; joined to a record above, it is a WeFi file.

Second location or build-out on a filed record

A liquor license application, health permit, building permit or business tax receipt for a new unit by an operator that already runs one. Fit-out, equipment and staff land before the new unit's first month of sales.

From this screenPeruanisima Bakery's owners registered a new company at 12720 S Orange Blossom Trail on September 8; six days later an all-assets lien landed on the bakery.

Fleet or terminal add on a federal record

An FMCSA carrier with two to six years of authority whose power-unit count rose on its latest MCS-150, a second terminal, or a new authority for a second entity under the same owner. Trucks are paid for before the freight is.

From this screenFY Logistics, LLC, a Jacksonville 3PL with eleven power units, was permitted on August 3 for a 99,771 square foot suite; it stayed off the list because its only nominee lien is from 2023 and the improvements read as landlord-funded.

New line or shift at a small shop

A fabricator, machine shop or food producer adding a line, a shift or a new product, evidenced by a permit, an inspection record or dated local reporting, and small enough that the owner signs personally.

From this screenL.I Roadside Care & Towing announced heavy-duty towing and a St. Cloud base on July 22, ten weeks after a filing that says a funder bought its future receipts.

Confirming only

Never lead with these

Job postings and the merchant's own site

A posting confirms hiring and the owner's name. A company site confirms what the merchant sells. Neither qualifies a file, and neither carries a merchant onto the Accounts tab alone.

From this screenIBS LLC's own site names its principals, its Connecticut HVAC license and a GSA contract through 2029; it confirms who signs, not whether money is needed.

State incentive and governor press releases

We read these to exclude, not to include. A grant-backed expansion with a captive lender on the equipment is the file a bank funds.

From this screenV&G Construction Solutions, Corp won a $2.38M Key Biscayne road contract and looked like two nominee positions until the filing images showed a milling machine, an excavator and a Chase blanket lien; it came off the list as a bank's file.

What each merchant arrives with

  • Company, city, sector and years in business, with the record that surfaced it linked and dated
  • The friction on file: secured party and filing date, or lien amount and date, from the registry
  • The owner with title from a state or court record, and a checked work email or a phone where one exists
  • The suggested first line and the correction, so outreach never claims the owner is looking for money

Contact records are delivered in full, validation method and date included.

Signal classes describe categories of public record and the cadence we read them on. Per-merchant claims live on the Accounts tab with their sources. None of these records proves a merchant wants an advance.
